A design villa at the edge of nature
Yuna One is a brand-new design villa (2025) with a private saltwater pool, ocean view, garden, and a spacious rooftop terrace with sun from morning to evening. Set at the top of the hill of Viana do Castelo, right on the edge of the forest, it looks out over the Atlantic coastline. The house was created by Angelique & Dirk (from Haarlem) together with a well-known local architecture studio, for guests who love space, calm, comfort, and being close to nature.
Where inside and outside become one
Inside and outside flow naturally into one another. Large glass doors open the living area to the terrace and pool, so you can have breakfast in the sun, swim between meetings, or settle in for sunset drinks without ever leaving the view behind.
Thoughtful spaces to unwind
Yuna One has two bedrooms, both opening onto a quiet rear terrace — cool in the morning, peaceful at night. The bathroom is modern and spacious, with a skylight above the shower that brings in daylight and lets you feel the weather before you even step outside. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances and thoughtful details, including a raised countertop for extra comfort. Yuna One sits at the highest point of the property and is reached via a scenic staircase through the garden, a special spot with extra views and a true sense of seclusion.

A place to remember and return to. It’s hard to explain, but I’ll try. Dirk and Angelique have exquisite taste, and they’ve brought that into their home, which is brand new and in exceptional condition. Not a single detail is missing, and the quality of everything installed — combined with the sense of style, is rare in a holiday rental. The house is beautiful and the pool is truly wonderful. Benedita is always attentive and ready to help. We spent four nights here and it felt like being in paradise, something to remember on winter nights. All in all, it will be difficult to find a better place on our next trip to northern Portugal, so we will definitely return. Thank you so much, Dirk, Angelique and Benedita.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Everything is clean and furnished with great care, and the kitchen is fully equipped, nothing is missing. The interior is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the terrace is quiet. The pool and lounge area are amazing, and the outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed. You really feel at home here. By car, everything you need is just a few minutes away — the town, sea and beaches, shops and restaurants. There’s plenty to do in the area, and Benedita and Angelique gave us many great tips. The welcome was warm, the communication very friendly. We would love to come back.

Yuna is a fantastic place to stay. The house is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Every detail has been thought of, from wonderfully scented shower gel to reusable shopping bags. The hosts gave us a very warm welcome and were incredibly helpful. Viana is a lovely town and centrally located for many trips, such as golf, beaches, nature and historic cities. After a day out, it’s wonderful to relax on Yuna’s rooftop terrace with pool. The sea views and spectacular sunsets will stay with us forever.

For this house and location, you can only give full marks. It’s AMAZING. We spent a week here with four adults and felt completely comfortable at all times. The location is perfect for exploring the north of Portugal, about 40 minutes to Porto (airport) and around 30 minutes to Ponte de Lima or the Spanish border. The nearest beach (which is lovely) is just a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk away. The house itself has a great layout for four people, with two almost identical bedrooms. The living and dining area opens onto a fantastic terrace with a pool, sunset views and the sea in the distance. The on-site support from the property manager is excellent. We were also lucky that the two owners happened to be there during our stay (in the lower apartment, Yuna Two) — a very friendly and lovely couple. Although the second, slightly smaller apartment is part of the same building, you don’t notice the other guests at all.
